Majestics Car Club of Regina is back for another spring event, inviting people from all over the province to display their historic cars while viewing other classic models. In celebration of their 57th annual Majestics Car Show, the brightest and most unique cars are being showcased at the Viterra International Trade Centre at the REAL District this weekend. “Majestics (Car Club) run a real classy operation. They’ve been around for 50 years, and they hold this big indoor show every year,” shared Mike Keil, president of Saskatchewan Ford Mercury Club. “It’s a real good start to the summer season for all the people in the car community. They are a first-class organization. They run a great show,” he added. While car enthusiasts enjoyed the show, Keil said the club watched over drivers’ vehicles. “Our part of this event is to operate the cool car corral for people who want to come and go to the Majestic Car show and bring their old classic car, half ton muscle car, whatever they have,” he explained. With vehicles dating as far back as the 1940s, Keil said a large amount of maintenance goes into keeping the classic models in shape. “With today’s fuels and everything else, the oils, motors needing different things to what they had back in the day, it’s been a challenge to keep some of these cars running,” he expressed. “As well to try and locate parts, then have people that have the knowledge to work together and keep running, but it’s nice to see some of this old stuff be restored.” In addition to Majestics, the Saskatchewan Ford Mercury Club raises money for juvenile diabetes throughout their events. The final day of this year’s show is from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on Sunday, April 27. The group will also be hosting a Majestics Rod Run on Aug. 22-24, and a Swap Meet at the end of the summer.
