A woman and girl have been charged following a robbery on the 4400 block of 4th Avenue on July 11. It happened around 9:35 p.m., when police say the victim was approached by three females who threw her to the ground and repeatedly spat on her. During the incident, the victim dropped her cell phone, which the suspects took before fleeing. The phone was later located a short distance away. The Regina Police Service Aerial Support Unit was notified and, within minutes, found three individuals matching the suspects’ descriptions several blocks away. Patrol officers responded and took two suspects into custody without incident. Police say further investigation determined the third individual was not involved in the robbery or assault. As a result, a 20-year-old woman and a 17-year-old girl have been charged with robbery. The woman made her first appearance in Regina Provincial Court on July 13 while the 17-year-old made her first appearance in Regina Provincial Youth Court on the same day.
