Two men and two women are facing charges following a five-month investigation into drug trafficking in Regina. The operation, which included assistance from the Saskatoon Police Service and Brandon, Man., police, culminated on Feb. 7 when Regina Police Service (RPS) officers executed four search warrants. Two of the searches were conducted in Regina, while the others took place in Davidson and Brandon. The operation resulted in 5,276 grams of cocaine, 1,089 grams of fentanyl, 183 grams of methamphetamine and $25,705 in cash being seized. RPS said the estimated street value of the seizure is believed to be in excess of $650,000 A total of four people were arrested in connection with the investigation. A 43-year-old Edmonton man faces nine counts related to drug trafficking and possessing the proceeds of crime. A 56-year-old woman from Stockholm, Sask., faces the same nine charges in addition to one count of conspiracy to commit an indictable offence through trafficking the proceeds of crime. A 50-year-old Regina man faces seven drug trafficking-related counts, while a 54-year-old woman from Moosomin faces five charges, all related to drug trafficking. All four of the accused made their first appearances on their charges in Regina Provincial Court on Feb. 9.
