Saskatchewan RCMP are warning residents about an ongoing email scam circulating across the province that falsely claims recipients owe money for a provincial violation ticket. Police say they received multiple reports on Feb. 13, 2026, of individuals receiving fraudulent emails impersonating the Saskatchewan Fine Collection Branch. The emails claim the recipient has been issued a provincial violation ticket and must pay a fine by a specified due date. The fraudulent messages include details such as a ticket number, fine amount, payment deadline, payment instructions and a link to unsubscribe, along with contact information and references to Provincial Court Services. RCMP say while the contact information listed in the email appears legitimate, the ticket details and payment link are fake. Residents are urged not to click on any links or provide payment. Police advise the public to watch for warning signs of scams, including unusual or misspelled sender email addresses, generic greetings and urgent demands for payment. They also recommend avoiding clicking links from unknown senders. Anyone who receives a similar email is encouraged to report it to their local police and the Canadian Anti-Fraud Centre. Saskatchewan RCMP can be reached by calling 310-RCMP. Anonymous tips can also be submitted to Saskatchewan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 or online.
